Nineteen persons were injured when a bus and a pickup collided with each other near Atchutwada-Assnora on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Mapusa police, the mishap took place as the pickup (MH-14-AH-9433) was proceeding from Assnora towards Mapusa, while the bus (GA-04-T-2415) was heading from Mapusa towards Valpoi.
The bus driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and the bus rammed into the oncoming pickup at about around 3.30 pm.Seventeen passengers as well as the drivers of the bus and pickup were injured in the mishap.
Four passengers who sustained serious injuries were moved to Goa Medical Hospital at Bambolim, while the others were discharged after treatment in the Asilo Hospital.
The right side of the bus has been extensively damaged. Mapusa Hawaldar Dnyaneshwar Malik is investigating the case.
