MAPUSA: The Mapusa police have registered two cases of unnatural death as two bodies were spotted in the wells at two different locations, at Mapusa, on Wednesday.
One of the deceased is a 73-year-old woman while the other is a 40-year-old male found in two different wells at Cunchelim and Gaunsa Vaddo respectively.
According to officials from the Mapusa Fire Station, they received a call around 9.20 am informing that a lady was fallen in a well at Cunchelim after which personnel from the fire department fished out the body.
The Mapusa police conducted panchanama and later shifted the body for post mortem. The deceased was identified as Veronica D’Souza.
The police suspect a case of suicide and have registered a case of unnatural death. While another incident was reported later on the same day where a male body was found floating in a well around 12.40 pm at Gaunsa Vaddo.
The dead body was identified as Maruti Naik, a 40-year-old resident of Gaunsa Vaddo. After conducting panchanama, the Mapusa police have registered a case of unnatural death in this incident as well.
