2 Calangute locals held for assault

CALANGUTE, DEC 21
Calangute Police arrested two persons in connection with the assault case at Calangute.
On a complaint lodged filed by Melina Gomes Pinto of Cobra Vaddo-Calangute, Calangute Police arrested Prabhakar Diukar (65) and Surendra Diukar (38), both residents of Cobra Vaddo, on charges of assaulting Alex Pinto on Monday. The third accused is absconding.
According to Calangute Police, the Diukar family allegedly assaulted Pinto, following some altercation over property dispute.
Police said Pinto was hit on head with a wooden material, grievously injuring Pinto. He was rushed to nearby PHC Candolim for medical attention. The doctors at PHC Candolim rushed him to GMC Hospital in Bambolim. PSI Harish Gauns is investigating the case.
