2 held for robbery at Bodgeshwar Temple in Mapusa

PANJIM: The Mapusa Police arrested two persons hailing from Karnataka for allegedly committing theft at Bodgeshwar Temple at Mapusa.

   According to the police, the accused, identified as Sagar Shinde, 40 and Anand Naik, 40 broke open the glass cover of the donation box in front of the idol while the security guards were asleep in the wee hours on Wednesday, February 28.

   The guards woke up with the noise and raised an alarm. However, the accused decamped with as many notes as they could carry from the donation box.

   A team was formed, Mapusa Police managed to nab the duo within a few hours of committing the crime.
