PANJIM: The Mapusa Police arrested Shridhar Killedar and Abhishek Pujari in connection with the brutal assault case which took place at the Housing Board.
Manthan Chari, another accused, was detained by the police on Thursday while the fourth accused Ramkrishna Bhalekar alias RK is absconding.
Two youths identified as Ahmed Devadi, 30 and Sandesh Salkar, 28 were assaulted with iron rod allegedly by a gang of four persons late night on Thursday.
According to the family members of the victims, the incident occurred at around 2.30 am on Thursday. Both men sustained serious head injuries and are currently recuperating in the intensive care unit at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. One of the victim is in a critical condition, say police.
Mapusa DySP Sandesh Chodankar said that the assault which took place near an overhead water tank at the Housing Board was to take revenge of previous enmity.
