“The teachers are, however, instructed to hold online classes as before during these holidays,” the management said.
Schools were partially re-opened for Classes X and XII students from November 21.
On Tuesday, a teacher from a school in Usgao had tested positive.
Speaking to media persons, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that the government has issued clear standard operating procedures (SOP) to be followed by the schools. “If any family member of the teacher or staff or student is tested positive, then that particular teacher or staff or student should not be allowed to attend classes,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Students Union of India (NSUI) Goa unit has written to the Chief Minister demanding that the physical classes be suspended following positive cases reported in two schools, which according to them, has created panic among students, parents and teachers.
NSUI Goa president Ahraz Mulla said they demand that the Director of Education call off all classes until further notice or test all students and faculties before conducting any classes.
“The government has to act swiftly to contain the number of cases in schools and have sustainable sources of education with responsibility,” Mulla said.
