BICHOLIM: Bicholim locals are facing acute water shortage as two valves at the main water tank at Sarvan are reported to be damaged.
According to the information, areas of Bicholim including market, Gaonkarwada, Muslim Wada and others are facing acute water shortage for the last two days. On Sunday, the workers took the day off thereby leaving the water tank work pending.
“We are facing this acute water shortage for the last two days. There is not a single drop of water in the house and we are dependent on packaged drinking water bottles,” a resident informed. Most people were proceeding to the Bicholim River and at Vathadev for bath and to wash clothes.
Today, after some alert residents raised their voice, the PWD sent the workers to the water tank at Sarvan to carry out repairs. According to sources, two valves at the water tank were damaged and it would take some time for repair.
