The names of the deceased are Praveen Kumar (37) and D Srinivas (48), both from Hyderabad. The truck was carrying cement bags to a godown at Usgao, when the accident occurred.
One journalist, Umesh Naik, from Dharbandora had a miraculous escape, since after parking his two wheeler, he had gone to click photographs of another accident that had occurred there a few minutes before, between an auto rickshaw and a Jeep. As soon as he got down from his scooter, the driver of the truck which was coming from behind, lost control and the truck hit the parked scooter thus damaging it.
