2-wheeler dealer ordered to pay compensation to consumer

MARGAO: The Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, South Goa, has ordered an automobile dealer to pay Rs 50,000 as compensation and interest of 8 per cent on Rs 17,500 to the complainant Tertuliano Darryl Gomes.
Tertuliano had booked a vehicle with the automobile company who was the authorized agent that manufactures the vehicle and paid Rs 50,000 as advance. However, as he had asked for delivery of the vehicle within 14 days he was asked to pay additional Rs 17,500.
However, as the vehicle was not delivered even four months after making the payment causing a huge loss and stress to the complainant, he moved the consumer forum that passed the order in his favour and asked the two companies to compensate him and also pay him interest on the additional amount that was collected from him for delivering the vehicle in time.
