PANJIM: Two youths identified as Ahmed Devadi (30) and Sandesh Salkar (28) were assaulted with an iron rod allegedly by a gang of four persons at the Housing Board, Mapusa.
According to the family members of the victims, the incident occurred at around 2.30 am on intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The victims are undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim.
Speaking to reporters, DySP Sandesh Chodankar said out of four accused three have been identified and it appears that the assault was to take revenge of previous enmity.
“Our priority is to ensure medical treatment to victims and arrest of the accused,” he said.
“The three accused have been identified and efforts being made to arrest them,” he said.
