VASCO: After a six-year wait, the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC), on Monday, cleared the promotion of 20 Group C and D Class municipal workers.
The same was done at a high-level council meeting, which was attended by Additional Director of Municipal Administration Satish Dessai, MMC Chief Officer Deepali Naik, Chairperson Deepak Naik and others.
“The workers’ union had made several representations to us, demanding that we clear the promotion file, which was held up for several years due to technical reasons. Today, we have cleared the promotion file. Twenty workers, including two gardeners, two tree cutters, a driver, three LDC staff members, few supervisors and labourers have been promoted,” informed CO Naik.
