PANJIM: A 20-year-old youth from Margao was killed in a road accident near CBI Office at Bambolim on Sunday morning.
According to the police, the deceased, identified as Usman Khan from Aquem-Margao, sustained grievous injuries after the car he was driving collided head on with a tempo coming from the opposite direction.
As he sustained serious injuries, he was immediately rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim. However, he succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment.
The deceased was on his way from Margao to Panjim when the accident occurred, a police official attached to Agacaim Police Station told O Heraldo. The impact was such that the four wheeler driven by Usman was badly damaged.
The body has been preserved for postmortem, police said, adding further investigation is underway.
