VASCO: Twenty-two trees got uprooted in and around Vasco on Thursday resulting in traffic jams and power cuts. However no casualties were reported in the town.
Sources from the Vasco fire station informed that a tree crashed along the Goa shipyard road while another tree damaged the compound wall and footpath near Keshav Smriti School.
Another tree damaged three cars, while a Mango tree caused damage to a house at Dhaktalem, Dabolim.
A huge tree fell on the live wires along the harbour route which disrupted power supply for an hour, informed sources.
Meanwhile, the condition of Nissar Sheikh, an IRB police, who was injured in a hoarding board collapse incident is stable, informed Vasco police.
