Gurashman Singh Bhatia, a 23-year-old student from Jalandhar pursuing a postgraduate degree in banking and finance at Loughborough University in London, was tragically discovered dead near a lake in Canary Wharf, East London. The young man had been missing since his birthday on December 15, with his family from Model Town, Jalandhar, last hearing from him during a celebratory video call outlining his plans for the day.
Concerns heightened when the family, unable to reach Gurashman after the birthday call, decided to travel to London on December 18. The disappearance of Gurashman Singh Bhatia drew widespread attention, as many shared video pleas on social media, calling for the involvement of India’s external affairs minister, S Jaishankar, and the British authorities.
