24-year-old drowns at Harvalem waterfall

bicholim: CA 24-year-old youth named Bhalchandra Patil, who is a resident of PDA colony old Goa in Ponda taluka, drowned at Harvalem waterfall in Bicholim on Thursday afternoon. 

The body was finally retrieved by a team of firemen from Bicholim fire station. 

Sources stated that the deceased along with his three friends had come to Harvalem waterfall area for sight seeing. 

Sources said that while he was swimming, there was a mishap possibly owing to misjudgement of the depth of the spot he was at when the incident took place. 

This fact came to light, after his friends raised an alarm. 

On getting the information, crew members of Bicholim fire station comprising of officer Shripad Gawas,  leading fireman Ratnakant Gawas, driver Baburao and firemen Umesh Gaonkar, Rupesh Pal ,Vishant Vaigankar,Aditya Gawas, Harshad Sawant and Ashish Morleka, rushed to the site and traced the body after a search operation of 2 hours. 

The same was handed over to Bicholim police. PSI Prajit Mandrekar attached to the Bicholim Police Station is investigating into the matter under the guidance of Police Inspector Sanjay Dalvi.
