Out of the 13 throat swabs of suspected H1N1 cases that were sent for testing between August 6 and 9, four have been confirmed positive for the disease, thus taking the total number of cases detected since January this year to 26.
Salcete has recorded the highest number of cases at 8, followed by Tiswadi (7), Mormugao (5), Ponda (3), Quepem (2) and Bardez (1).
Meanwhile, the North Goa Collector in a meeting with deputy collectors, BDOs and mamlatdars have instructed them to take appropriate measures to contain diseases like H1N1, chikungunya, malaria, dengue, etc.
