PANJIM: Till Thursday 36 nominations were filed for the April 23 civic polls in five municipalities.
While on the first day of filing nominations, 10 aspirants had filed their candidature, on Thursday, another 26 added to the list.
Mapusa, Margao, Mormugao, Sanguem and Quepem municipalities will go for polls on April 23.
So far, Quepem has the highest of 12 nominations, followed by 10 in Mormugao and eight in Margao. Five nominations have been filed in Mapusa and one in Sanguem.
The last date for filing of the nominations is April 8. Scrutiny of applications will take place on April 9, while withdrawal of candidature, if any, will be allowed on April 10.
No nominations were received for by-elections to Ward II of Karapur-Sarvan village panchayat in Bicholim taluka and ward IV of Veim village panchatyat in Salcete taluka, where polling is also scheduled on April 23.
