26-Year-Old Woman Found Hanging From Tree Near Canal

Police on Sunday recovered the body of a 26-year-old married woman hanging from a tree near a canal in the Munjesh Nagar area. The body was partially submerged in water when it was found.

Authorities said the incident took place near the Munjesh Nagar crossing. The Kurebhar police station received a call early in the morning informing officers that a woman had allegedly died by hanging near the canal.

Circle Officer Ashutosh Kumar said a police team rushed to the location after receiving the information. At the spot, officers found the woman hanging from a tree with a noose made from her saree. According to officials, nearly half of her body was in the canal water.

During the initial inspection of the body, police did not find any visible injury marks. The woman’s identity was initially unknown when the body was recovered.

Later investigation revealed that she was a resident of Bikapur in Ayodhya district. Police said she had been married for approximately seven years.

Officials also learned that the woman had reportedly left her in-laws’ home a day before the incident after a dispute with family members.

The body has been taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police said further investigation is ongoing, and statements from family members and local residents are being recorded to understand the events leading up to the incident.
