PANJIM: A 26-year-old man from Patna, Bihar who had collapsed during IRONMAN70.3 Goa triathlon in Panjim on Sunday expired at a private hospital near here on Monday.
Kamakhya Siddharth, who had collapsed during the IRONMAN 70.3 on Sunday, died at a private hospital on Monday, according to the organisers.
The deceased had suffered from multiple organ failure. Sources stated that Siddharth had collapsed during the last leg of the race in Panjim on Sunday. He collapsed around 3:30 pm, after which he was shifted to a private hospital. Sources stated that he breathed his last at 1.30 pm on Monday, after unsuccessful attempts by the doctors to save him.
Meanwhile, the parents of the deceased were expected to arrive from Patna later on Monday.
