260 potholes reported from 15 locations across Goa within hours of launching PWD app: Cabral

PANJIM: As many as 260 persons posted geotagged photographs of potholes from 15 locations across the State within hours of launch of the Goa PWD App, informed PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral on Friday.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a programme at the PWD head office, Altinho, Cabral said that the app for reporting potholes was launched at the hands of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari during the inauguration of new signature Zuari bridge on Thursday late evening. By Friday morning, the people downloaded the PWD App on their mobile phones, clicked photographs of potholes and reported it to the PWD. 

Cabral said that the PWD engineers are monitoring the potholes on roads and these reported pothole complains would be attended within three days by according first priority to potholes caused due to deterioration of roads. 

The Minister said that over a period of time the app will provide grievance redressal mechanism for all services provided through PWD including sewerage lines, water supply etc. The link for the pothole reporting app is https://tinyurl.com/goapwdapp

Earlier, the Minister relaunched One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for consumers, who have defaulted in paying water bills. These consumers can now clear their dues by opting OTS scheme, online.
