A fatal self-accident was reported at Sirlim on Sunday late at night wherein 28-year-old Sattya Rajkumar Thomar lost his life. Thomar lost control of the car and rammed the vehicle into a tree at Sirlim village on the Margao-Cuncolim highway.
According to traffic officials, the driver 28-year-old Sattya Rajkumar Thomar was either driving beyond the speed limit or was drowsy. “Looking at the situation of the car, either the driver was driving beyond the speed limit or was drowsing. In such a situation where the driver is feeling drowsy, it is advisable that the driver should take a nap rather than driving in drowsiness. We assume that the self-accident was due to high speeding of the car that led to the fatalities.” Said RTO Officer Sanjay Dalvi.
Due to the driver losing his control, the high-speed car skidded and rammed straight into a tree near the roadside on the Margao-Cuncolim highway. The locals immediately reported the case late at night and a panchnama was recorded at the Margao Police Station. The driver was swiftly taken to South Goa District Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
