SANKHALI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that at every breast cancer screening camp conducted in the State, at least three to four women are detected with lumps.
Speaking at a function the Chief Minister said women generally don’t take their health care seriously. “Those above 40 years of age must get tested for cancer. Most prevalent cancer is breast cancer among women, which is followed by cervical cancer and the third is oral cancer which is caused by eating tobacco or related products,” Sawant said.
“Whenever we organised a camp it was found that at least three to four women were detected with lumps. They do not go for tests whenever they are required. We will have to advise people at rural level, especially women and aged people, to go for tests,” the CM said.
