MAPUSA: Calangute police, headed by PI Nolasco Raposo, busted an illegal prostitution racket, arrested three pimps Akash Jaiswal, Pradeep Das (Faizal) and G Nagraj all from Karnataka and rescued nine women.
The raid was conducted early morning on Saturday and nine women victims were rescued. The victims are now lodged at State Protective Home, Merces after obtaining necessary orders from the Bardez Deputy Collector.
Meanwhile, the three accused persons were produced before the JMFC, Mapusa and are remanded to police custody for further interrogation.
The case is being investigated under the supervision of SDPO Porvorim Edwin Colaco and SP North Utkrisht Prasoon.
