MAPUSA: Mapusa police have arrested three persons, including two women, in a case of chain-snatching in Mapusa on Friday.
Two women, 23-year-old Shafiya Shabbir Khan, from Keri, Sattari, 31-year-old Archana Gurudas Vaigankar, resident of Verla, Canca and 30-year-old Shahid Shaikh from Dhargal, Pernem were arrested for snatching the gold chain of 72-year-old Laxmi Dhargalkar from Khorlim, Mapusa.
Sources informed that one woman came out of a luxury car and snatched the gold chain of the old woman outside her shop at Mapusa. On hearing his mother scream, her son rushed to the shop. And as the trio raced away in the car, he noted the registration number and alerted the police.
Police soon traced the car and arrested the two women and the man.
