MARGAO: The Margao Range Forest office arrested three poachers and retrieved 11 bull frogs from their possession.
Margao Range Forest Officer Siddesh Gawade and his team arrested three frog hunters at Arlem-Raia, seized 11 frogs.
The hunters were produced before JMFC who released them on furnishing of personal bond.
The hunters have been booked under Section 9 of Wildlife Protection Act. Samarth Naik, Cyril Noronha, forest guard Damu Punaji, and Jeferino assisted in the nabbing the hunters. The flying squad of Forest officials while heralding around the area near Arlem noticed flashing lights in the fields after which they sprung into action and nabbed the hunters on Wednesday midnight.
