VASCO: Three Sri Lankan nationals were arrested by the Dabolim police on charges of attempting to fly to Germany on forged visas and immigration stamps at the Dabolim airport.
While two passengers, Kajeetha Shivalangam and Gritham Gopal Krishna, were planning to fly to Germany via a Goa-Kuwait-Frankfurt flight, the agent, Patrick Joseph Fernando, was stationed at the Dabolim airport, police said.
According to police sources, the two passengers had submitted their documents during immigration check, when immigration officials noticed that the Visa and immigration stamp of the German embassy were forged.
The two passengers were then detained by police and during interrogation, informed the police that their agent was also present at the Dabolim airport. Acting on the details, police nabbed Fernando, who was outside the airport.
All three accused have been arrested Dabolim police on charges of forgery and cheating and have been remanded to four days police custody.
Dabolim PI Naulesh Dessai is investigating the case.
