A day earlier, two officers of the same rank, Sudhir Mandrekar and Ramnath Shetgaonkar, were questioned at the SIT office, Dona Paula.
Six more mines officials have been summoned in continuing interrogation of mines officials. Sources said that 16 mines officers will be questioned pertaining to different aspects of the case involving ex-MLA Anil Salgaocar and former minister Joaquim Alemao. The duo along with officials of Salgaocar Mining Industries Pvt Ltd will be summoned towards the end of the investigation. The accused are being investigated under various sections of the Mineral Concession Rules, 1960, read with Section 21(1)(2) of the Mines & Mineral (Development & Regulation) Act, 1957 & Section 2 r/w 3A of the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980.
