3-yr-old catches H1N1, cured

After a long gap, a three-year-old child from Salcete taluka, who had travelled to Pune and Mumbai with his family recently, tested positive for H1N1 influenza.
However, according to the status report sent by the Department of Information the child, who was admitted at the TB Hospital in Margao, has fully recovered. The family members and contacts were administered prophylactic treatment, the report mentioned.
So far, from June 2009 the 55 H1N1 influenza cases have been confirmed. In the current year (2010) till date a total of 24 samples of suspected cases were referred for testing and three turned out positive. The three cases were confirmed in January, March and May.
Meanwhile, the core committee for H1N1 review will meet on May 27, 2010 under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary.
