PANJIM: Goa continued to witness rise in Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections with the State recording 32 per cent growth in the revenue in August.
According to the Union Finance Ministry, Rs 376 crore was collected as GST in August this year as against Rs 285 crore in August 2021.
The month of July had recorded 43 per cent growth in GST collection compared to similar period last year. In July 2022, Rs 433 crore was collected as GST as against Rs 303 crore in 2021. In June, the total GST revenue stood at Rs 429 crore.
Nationally, the gross GST revenue collected in the month of August 2022 stood at Rs 1,43,612 crore, up 28 per cent on a year-on-year basis. With this, the monthly GST revenues have exceeded Rs 1.4 lakh crore for six months in a row.
Further, the Centre has settled Rs 29,524 crore to CGST and Rs 25,119 crore to SGST from IGST. The total revenue of the Centre and the States in the month of August after the regular settlement stood at Rs 54,234 crore for CGST and Rs 56,070 crore for the SGST.
