32-year-old convicted for raping 13-year-old

PANJIM, SEPT 3 
Goa Children’s Court today convicted 32-year-old Vishal Devidas for raping 13-year-old girl in Rivona village, in December 2006.
The President P V Sawaikar convicted Devidas for raping the minor girl while quantum of sentence will be decided on September 13, 2010. 
According to the police complaint registered by Quepem police, the accused on December 1, 2006 forcibly entered into the house of victim and raped her by dragging her into the bedroom.
Victim’s mother in her complaint had stated that the accused had entered into the house of victim and caught her neck while she was cooking at 10.30 am. 
The accused was arrested on January 05, 2007 after victim and her brother identified him and was charge-sheeted on January 1, 2008. However, he was granted bail on February 6, 2007.
The medical examination conducted on the girl confirmed penetration.
