PANJIM: 34: Days since Goa’s warrior priest Father Bismarque died in mysterious circumstances with his body found in the waters of the Mandovi at St Estevam.
30: Days since viscera samples sent for chemical analysis at CFSL Hyderabad.
19: Days since Father’s molar tooth and the blood stained vest, identified as his by his family members, sent to CIFS Hyderabad for DNA profiling.
Justice for Father Bismarque is on quite a very long road. While Goa’s beloved Father has gone to, or was put to, sleep for eternity, his soul and that of the true Goan will not rest till the actual cause of his death is confirmed. Herald has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with countless people who refuse to buy any attempt at concluding that his death was due to accidental drowning.
A mickky mouse investigation by the Old Goa police botched up early evidence gathering forcing Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar to hand over the case to the Crime Branch.
Chief Minister Parsekar has defended his government’s actions by saying (before the case was handed over to Crime Branch) that he has asked the investigating agencies to get the viscera report in 15 days when it normally takes a month. Today is exactly a month since the samples were sent.
The Crime Branch has taken over the case on November 19. So far more than 30 people have been interrogated and their statements recorded and many more will be questioned. So Crime Branch, Karthik Kashyap says “The investigation is on the right track”.
Goa also wants it also to be on the fast track
