348 students attend GU placement fair

PANJIM: Goa University received an overwhelming response from students and companies for the annual placement fair, at which 348 job aspirants attended interviews. In all 735 post-graduate and undergraduate students had registered for the fair.

PANJIM: Goa University received an overwhelming response from students and companies for the annual placement fair, at which 348 job aspirants attended interviews. In all 735 post-graduate and undergraduate students had registered for the fair.
Speaking to Herald, GU Registrar Y V Reddy said, “This year, the response from the students and companies for the placement fair was overwhelming, 318 post graduate students and 417 under graduate students registered online for the fair.”
“Post graduate students were from arts, science, commerce, MBA and engineering streams.  Likewise, the under graduate students were from arts, science, commerce, engineering, BBA, BCA and BPharm. On the spot online registration of students for the fair were also accepted and 88 students registered on the spot. All 88 students appeared for interviews,” Reddy said.
There were 25 companies and two career companies (TIME, Panjim and Wikati Education UK) that had registered for the placement fair, of which 23 companies were from the fields of information technology, sales, education, recruitment companies and NGOs. Reddy said, “Of 735 students who registered online, 348 attended the interviews.”
Ambika Dias, a PG student who attended the interview, said, “The quality of the placement fair was quite good and mostly local companies participated. The way the fair arranged was very good. Today we gave a first round of interview and now they have told us to send a CV and further things will be decided later.”
