PONDA: Thirty-five migrants, including children, are stranded at two construction sites — one at Manguehsim, the other at Mardol — following the lockdown in view of COVID-19.

The contractor who had brought the labourers from outside Goa has abandoned them at the construction sites.

They were left to starve for many days. Four days ago, they were helped by some locals, who provided them food grains. However, the food grains have exhausted; now the labourers are waiting for help.

The locals say that the government officials should supply them food during the lockdown period.

Meanwhile, on Sunday evening Navodit Veling Society President Mangaldas Gaude provided these labourers food grains.
