4 booked for stabbing Pernem resident at Siolim

PANJIM: The Anjuna Police booked four persons, including a minor, for allegedly stabbing a Pernem resident near Dominos at Siolim.

Police stated that on April 6, at around 23.45 pm Vignesh Chodankar, Prajyot Salgaonkar, Tukaram Dabholkar and another minor, assaulted Sahil Gadekar, resident of Nagzar, Pernem, with a knife over a frivilous matter. The victim sustained serious injuries while his companion Laxman Sawant, from Dhargal who came to his rescue, sustained simple injuries. 

One of the accused then picked a laterite stone and smashed the motorcycle which Sahil was riding, police said. 

The Anjuna police registered an offence under section 326, 323, 427, read with 34 of IPC.

One of the minor accused, a resident from Marna, Siolim, was arrested and was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), police said.

Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of PI Prashal Desai of Anjuna Police Station, Sandesh Chodankar, SDPO, Mapusa, under the overall supervision of Akshat Kaushal, SP, North Goa, police added.
