MARGAO: Fatorda police team arrested four persons for allegedly attacking a wholesale wine shop owner at Fatorda.
One of the accused is a minor while the others are Navelim resident Kumar Kimu Chavan, Ravanfond Station road resident Rajesh Budiyar and Mandopa-Navelim resident Sharnu Biru Matin. Two others are still at large. They have been remanded to five days police custody while the minor has been sent to the protective home.
Fatorda police team apprehended Kimu at Borda and got managed to arrest the others after interrogating Kimu. A two-wheeler has been attached.
It may be recalled that the Fatorda Police had registered a case against six unknown persons for allegedly stabbing the wine shop owner Freddy Fernandes on October 14 midnight when he refused to serve them alcohol.
The owner had closed his wholesale wine shop and gone home, when he realised that he left his mobile at the shop and returned to collect it. When he was closing the shop at around 12.30 am, six persons came and demanded that he serve them alcohol. They threatened him with a knife and when he refused, he was stabbed repeatedly.
PI Kapil Nayak and his team have been commended for arresting the accused.
