4 held for thefts in Ponda

PONDA, SEPT 14
Four persons have been arrested on charges of various thefts in various parts of Ponda taluka.
According to reports, Ponda police had been monitoring the movements of Malikarjun Bellari of Monte-Margao, Laxman Lamani of Upper Bazaar Ponda, Vijay Marandi of Margao, Mahadev Kharujkar of Shantinagar-Ponda, since the last eight days.
The police managed to recover two stolen TV sets and expensive bathroom fitting worth Rs 1.75 lakh from them.
The accused have been remanded to four days police custody. PSI Laxmi Amonkar is investigating the case under the supervision of PI C L Patil.
