4 jail guards held for attempt to rob truck driver

Ponda Police arrested four jail guards in connection with the highway robbery at Kundaim in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to Ponda Police, the four jail guards, who were posted at Aguada Jail, were identified as Amit Ankush Naik of Gaunem-Bandora, Ponda, Dinesh Kishore Warang of St Cruz, Ponda, Vishnu Vinayak Naik of Shanti Wada, Khorlim-Mapusa, and Keshav Digambar Gawas of Mapusa Police Quarters.
Police informed that four tried to rob a truck driver at Kundaim. Noticing the police jeep, all four tried to flee on their motorcycles. However, police managed to nab all four accused after a chase.
Ponda Police has arrested all the four jail guards under Sections 341, 323, 394, 511 of IPC. PSI Nikhil Palyekar is investigating.
