Pernem: Pernem police booked four natives of Kudal, Maharashtra for illegal transportation of sand from Maharashtra to Goa. The raid was conducted early Friday morning after the trucks were found without any pass from the concerned authority.
Pernem police have booked Gurunagth Dattaram Gawde (32), Sudarshan Laxman Varak (35), Sanjay Janu Varak (27) and Anant Arjun Parab (32) all residents of Kudal in Maharashtra.
According to Pernem police, the accused committed theft of sand mineral from the river without any lease or licence from competent authority and transported the same in a clandestine manner without permission from concerned authorities for personal gain from the possession of State Government in the truck.
All the four persons are booked under Section 379 IPC and Section 21 of Mines and Mineral Development and Regulations, 1957.
