4 more admitted in GMC isolation ward

PANJIM: While four new suspects of COVID-19 were admitted in the isolation ward of Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) on Wednesday, 47 patients who were quarantined have tested negative for the virus.

As per the bulletin issued by Directorate of Health Services (DHS), four new suspects were admitted in the Goa Medical College and Hospital , taking the tally of suspects in the isolation ward to 12.

On Wednesday, 47 passengers were placed under home quarantine, while no new person was admitted in the facility quarantine.

Out of 58 samples pending for testing, 47 tested negative, while reports of 11 are awaited. All the seven coronavirus patients continue to remain admitted in the COVID hospital, Margao. 

Since January 29, there have been 1,327 passengers home quarantined, while 198 were placed in facility quarantine. In all 129 were admitted in the isolation ward. 

COVID-19 patient recovers

In a late night statement, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced that Goa had its first recovered COVID-19 patient. 

“The patient will further be kept under monitored quarantine for 14 days as per protocol before final discharge,” he said.

He applauded the medical staff for their dedicated service and tireless efforts in ensuring the best treatment for the patients.
