4-yr-old boy dies in Usgao mishap

A four-year-old boy died, while his grandfather escaped with minor injuries, after they were knocked down by a truck at Tisk-Usgao on Monday morning.
Irked with the incident, furious villagers blocked the road for over 5 hours demanding to stop heavy vehicular movement.
The angry villagers also damaged the truck involved in the accident and two other trucks which forcibly tried to ply. Ponda Police rushed to the site and brought the situation under control.
According to Ponda Police, the accident occurred at about 11.15 am when Pritish Dhavre was crossing the road along with his grandfather, Anil Dhavre (60). Both were knocked down by the truck, which was proceeding in the opposite direction.
Pritish was crushed under the wheels, while Anil escaped with minor injuries. Irked with the incident, some protestors were detained by Ponda Police and were later released on bail.
