CANACONA: Fire personnel cut down 44 trees posing danger on NH between Polem to Gulem in Canacona.
Many accidents have taken place in the past on the treacherous stretch of national highway between Polem and Gulem with one of the reason attributed to presence of trees close to the road.
After persistent follow up by the citizens of Canacona, the deputy collector ordered the fire department to cut the trees posing danger to life and property of the commuters on this stretch.
The PWD national highways (NH) had earlier identified the trees posing imminent danger to road users on the NH passing through Canacona taluka.
