4th kidnapper of students arrested from Zuarinagar

MARGAO: The 4th accused in the gang of kidnappers was arrested by the Fatorda Police on Friday. Three were nabbed earlier.
Accused Saddam Sayed, aged 23, was apprehended by the Fatorda Police from Zuarinagar area on Friday. Saddam is the 4th to be arrested in the case of kidnapping four minor Higher Secondary students for ransom. 
According to the Police, the accused Saddam has been living in Manora, Raia and is a native of Bellari, Karnataka. He, along with his three friends, had kidnapped the four boys from a place in Fatorda and took them to a location in Raia on Wednesday. The kidnappers held the four minor students for ransom, robbed and assaulted them while they were with them. The kidnappers had demanded Rs. 75,000 from each of the parents.
Delson Quadros from Raia, Samir Shaikh from Davorlim and Jaglisab Maula from Majorda had already been nabbed and now the 4th accused has also been taken into custody.
It might be recalled that the worried parents of four minor boys, kidnapped on Wednesday, played a heroic role and caught hold of one of the kidnappers and rescued them from the clutches of the perpetrators.
The drama started at a location in Fatorda on Wednesday wherein four boys from a local Higher Secondary school were kidnapped and taken away by a group of youngsters. The kidnappers held the 4 minor students for ransom and asked their parents to pay the money or they would assault them and not release them.
After the panicky students called, the parents agreed and called the kidnapper gang at a petrol pump in Arlem to get the ransom. When one of kidnappers, by the name Delson Quadros from Raia, attempted to collect the ransom he was nabbed by the parents and the victim students were rescued by the parents. The three others fled the spot. The police then arrested the two youths on Thursday while the fourth accused Saddam Sayed was arrested from Zuarinagar on Friday.
The police have also recovered four two-wheelers which were used to abduct the boys. The Police registered an offence under section 364 (a) kidnapping for ransom, 320, 506 and also for assault and injury under the Goa Children Act.
