MARGAO, APRIL 22
A total of five candidates are left in the fray for the May 9 bye-polls for the Navelim Zilla Panchayat constituency after two candidates Benedito (Bishuth) Themudo and Michael Hermino Fernandes withdrew from the fray.
Agnelo Salazar Filomeno Da Costa (Ravora), Casmiro Cyril Viera (Belem), Edwin Domingo Cardozo (Ravora), Sucorro Antonio Fernandes (Fradilem) and Wilson Jose Antonio Viegas (Sirlim) are the candidates left in the fray after the last date of withdrawal today.
Elections for the Navelim ZP seat had to be countermanded following the death of candidate Hermino Fernandes in a road accident in the run up to the polls.
