PANJIM: A 32-year-old was among the five COVID-19 deaths reported in the State on Monday as positive cases below 200 were recorded for the second consecutive day.
However, while 159 cases were recorded in the State, what is shocking is that only 749 tests were done on Monday with a positivity rate of over 20 per cent.
With five deaths reported on Monday, the death toll has risen to 549.
The 32-year-old female, who succumbed to the infection, was a resident of Salvador do Mundo and had bilateral COVID19 pneumonia along with rheumatoid arthritis.
The others who succumbed to the infection include 86-year-old male from Dona Paula, 61-year-old man from Siolim, 70-year-old male from Sanguem and 62-year-old man from Curca-Bambolim.
Four deaths were reported in GMC and one at ESI Hospital.
The State on Monday recorded 519 recoveries.
The total active cases have come down to 3,283, while the total confirmed cases now stand at 40,746.
