5 held, 3 girls rescued in raid on parlour

CALANGUTE, JULY 31
Calangute Police on Friday raided an Ayurvedic massage parlour in a private flat in a resort at Candolim and arrested five persons, while also rescuing three girls allegedly used in the flesh trade.
Police has arrested the parlour owner, Yashoda Rao of Bambolim and parlour manager Laxman Gaude, while the partner was reported to be absconding.
Police team led by PI Nolasco Raposo also arrested three persons Anant Sharma (30), Mahendra Yadav (28) and Jai Prakash (26), all from Ajmer-Rajasthan who were holidaying in the State.
Police said they were caught red-handed in the illegal trade at the massage parlour.
Speaking to Herald, PI Raposo said that they rescued the three girls, in the age group of 22-23 years, who were working in the massage parlour. They have been sent to the Protective Home at Merces.
He further said that as per the law, the three girls are the victims under the circumstances.
Police have registered an offense under Sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. PI Raposo is investigating the case.
