VASCO: Five Mormugao residents had a miraculous escape after their cars collided on the National Highway 17B near Zuarinagar on Thursday afternoon.
According to information, a Maruti Ciaz car driven by Bogda resident Oswin Fernandes dashed against a Maruti Omni van moving in the same direction (towards Birla cross from Vasco). The impact was such that Ciaz turned turtle on the road, and both cars were completely damaged. However, all five escaped with only minor injuries.
“There were three occupants, including the driver, in the Ciaz and two occupants, including driver Ramkrishna Kolekar and a female occupant, both from Pixem-Dongri, in the van. All the injured persons were shifted to a hospital; two are under observation while the others have been discharged after medical treatment,” said police.
