MARGAO: Five members of a gang who committed the murder of a 22-year-old youth from Azad Nagar, Margao and caused injuries to another were remanded to 14 days in judicial custody by the Judicial Magistrate First Class on Thursday.
The heinous crime took place in Azad Nagar, Margao in an open place when deceased Mukhtar Badni, aged 22 was murdered on his birthday.
According to the sources, a group of youth infamous in the locality as ‘Suresh Gang’ came to the spot and instigated a fight over some petty matter, while the birthday celebration of the deceased was on.
The alleged accused Vinod Jalgar, Suresh Jalgarage, Akshay Bhove, Asif Nagarehi and Mohammad Hussan all residents of Azadnagar, Margao had been arrested under sections 143, 147, 148, 324, 302 R/w 149 of IPC by the police.
