PANJIM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary and Goa desk incharge C T Ravi on Saturday said that many opposition MLAs are in contact with the BJP and are likely to join the saffron party soon.
But this can happen only if the BJP Central leadership gives a green signal to their joining.
Speaking at the BJP State executive meeting in the city, Ravi said that if things go well then soon the party could have 30 legislators on its side.
Currently the Ruling dispensation has strength of 25 MLAs including 20 of BJP, two belonging to MGP and three Independents.
“We got 20 seats in the beginning. That was increased to 25 and soon that number will increase to 30″, Ravi said.
However, Ravi refuse to disclose whether these five opposition members belong to Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Goa Forward Party or Goa Revolutionary Party, who are in the opposition.
The party’s strategy cannot be revealed in detail, he told reporters when asked for details.
The BJP general secretary said that by December end the party will surely increase its tally to 30. The high command is yet to give its nod and because of it their entry is pending. “We will allow the entry of these MLAs only when party gives green signal”, he said.
