5-yr-old girl drowns in well

In a tragic incident, a five-year-old girl from Ucassaim drowned in the well near the panchayat office at Ucassaim on Monday.
According to Mapusa police, Pooja Pawar was playing when she slipped and fell into the well near her house and drowned.
At the time of the incident, her mother was asleep in the house with her two-and-half year old son, while Pooja’s father had gone out. Police further informed that when Pooja’s mother woke up, she found her daughter missing. Family members along with neighbours and police conducted a search and the body was found in the well at about 5 pm.
Mapusa police fished out the body from the well.
Police said the post mortem will be conducted on Tuesday. Police Sub Inspector Nitin Halarnker is investigating the case.
