MARGAO: 50-year-old Vajay Painginkar from Dandevaddo Chinchinim Salcete died on the spot on Saturday afternoon after a rickshaw loaded with goods hits his bike near Paroda. Rickshaw driver was also injured and has been admitted in Margao Hospicio hospital.
According to Police inspector of Quepem Police station Deepak Pednekar goods rickshaw driver Sudesh Dessai, resident of Xeldem, was heading towards Quepem from Margao while Painginkar was proceeding in opposite direction. They had an headon collision when they reached near Paroda causing serious injuries to the rider, which resulted in his instant death.
Police said that driver of goods rickshaw was in drunken state and has suffered injuries too.
